If you just got your ride in the spring it has probably been subjected to a wide variety of pollutants for several long months. What you will need to focus on is getting rid of them. Calcium (salt) buildup is a big issue come spring time. To get rid of it and keep it away I recommend using a carpet cleaner that includes oxygen. It helps lift off those stubborn deposits. Read and follow the products directions first. After you have removed the salt I suggest treating the dry area with a fabric sealer.
In the winter the city dumps an incredible amount of salt and rocks. These more often than not make their way onto your vehicle. Before you go ahead and wax her you'll want to consider getting some touch up paint and sealing any open paint chips.
